Does AviClear® really work?
AviClear® clinical trials demonstrate that current and future breakout episodes are shorter, less intense, and more infrequent following the procedure. Further, acne clearance results continue to improve over time demonstrating the long-term efficacy of this novel treatment. In addition to reducing existing acne, clinical trials show that 80% of patients saw at least half of their acne clear within the first 3 months. How does AviClear® work?
To understand how AviClear® works, it is important to first understand that one of the leading causes of acne is the overproduction of oil from your oil-producing sebaceous glands.
The laser treatments shrink these sebaceous glands. This decreases oil production which decreases clogged pores and leads to fewer breakouts.
By shrinking your oil glands, you prevent acne by treating the root of the problem.
What will I look like immediately after the treatment?
Because AviClear® uses a unique 1726 nm laser wavelength, it selectively targets and downregulates the oil glands underneath your skin’s surface which leaves the visible skin completely intact. This means you have no embarrassing social downtime, and you may immediately resume your activities.
How often should I get my treatments?
Three treatments are typically scheduled 3-5 weeks apart which means you can complete this series in just 6 weeks.
Are the treatments painful?
We focus exceptionally hard on keeping our patients comfortable during their treatments. Most opt to take advantage of inhaling our complementary Pro-Nox Nitrous Oxide gas—more commonly known as laughing gas. This gas is a safe way to ensure that patients receive the optimal laser treatment settings but with minimal discomfort. Nitrous oxide is proven safe for children and even pregnant women. Within 5-10 minutes of your procedure, there is no trace of the gas in your body, and you can drive yourself home.
Additionally, AviClear® is equipped with exclusive AviCool® sapphire skin cooling and sensory controls that maintain the skin’s temperature during the treatment for a more comfortable experience.
Does a Health Savings Account (HSA) Cover AviClear®?

The number of treatments needed with AviClear® acne laser is 3 treatments spaced 3-5 weeks apart ideally. This means you could complete your series of 3 within just a 6 week timeframe!
The AviClear® acne laser treatment is generally safe and associated with minimal side effects. Some patients may experience temporary redness, mild swelling, or a slight warming sensation in the treated area, which typically resolves within a few hours. About half of patients will experience a “purging” of acne which is a flare-up of acne about 1-2 weeks after treatments. Our patients typically report this is no worse than their typical acne flare-ups.
Yes, AviClear® acne laser is safe for use on all skin types. The laser technology is designed to be adaptable and can be customized to suit different skin tones and conditions.
The duration of each AviClear® acne laser treatment session is between 30-45 minutes. Please allow an additional half hour for cleansing of the skin and pictures to be taken prior to your treatment as well.
AviClear® acne laser treatment is considered a non-invasive procedure with minimal downtime. Most patients resume their daily activities immediately after the treatment. However, it is recommended to avoid direct sun exposure and apply sunscreen to protect your skin for a few days after the treatment.
